Education Background

 

Zhang Jianping, a weed scientist, received her BSc degree in Food Engineering (1996) from Jiangnan University, China, her MSc degree in Microbiology (2005) from Nankai University, China and her PhD in Agricultural Microbiology (2012) from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China.

 

Research Area

 

Her major focus is the research and development of bioherbicides, including survey and evaluation of promising mycoherbicides for the control of barnyard grass and other weeds, and development of a low-cost technology for mass production of spore for biocontrol the barnyard grass in rice field. Other focuses include:

 

Biochemistry and molecular mechanism of weeds herbicide resistance.

Survey and Control of weedy rice.

 

Achievements

 

Through her efforts, her research has achieved the support by six projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 31101454), Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province (Y3100237 and Y306180) and Central Public-Interest Scientific Institution Basal Research Fund (2012RG003-2, 2009RG004-1 and 2006RG013). She has also participated in 4 projects, such as the National High Technology Research and Development Program (‘‘863’’ Program) of China (2011AA10A206 and 2006AA10A214), National Science and Technology Support Program (2012BAD19B02), and Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province (Y3100237).

 

4 China national invention patents were obtained, 2 books and more than 30 papers were published between 2005 and 2014.
