Eminent scientist Takuji Sasaki visits CNRRI

Takuji Sasaki, a world famous scientist and professor of Tokyo University of Agriculture visited CNRRI’s national key lab of rice biology. He was in the company of Dr.Wu Jianzhong from National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences. Dr.Qian Qian, head of the key lab took the charge of reception.

During the visit, Takuji Sasaki together with his company engaged in communicating and discussing with CNRRI’s key lab researchers, and made a report with the topic of Rice Plants as Resources for Life and Science. Later, Takuji Sasaki and Qian toured Lingshui county of Hainan province, and inspected the farming situation of rice mutants.

Takuji Sasaki initiated rice genomics research, and he is the editor-in-chief of Breeding Science and Rice. He Leads Japan's Rice Genome Research Program, and the International Rice Genome Sequencing Project.
