Rice Science(ISSN 1672-6308, formerly Chinese Rice Research Newsletter, ISSN 1005-4111) is an international peer-reviewed bimonthly journal sponsored by China National Rice Research Institute (CNRRI) and published by the Elsevier B V, and indexed/abstracted by SCIE, Scopus, CABI and CSCD, etc.>

CNRRI was established in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province as approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China in June 1981, under the dual leadership of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) and Zhejiang Provincial Government.

CNRRI plays an important role in coordinating priority rice research programs throughout the country, conducting national and international training and scientific & technical exchange, publishing academic journals and books on rice.

Rice Science aims to advance and diffuse the knowledge of rice sciences, and to provide readers with the most influential developments and transformative ideas in rice research and production. The main topics are rice breeding, genetics, biotechnology, germplasm resources, agronomy, plant physiology, pest management, soil and fertilizer management, ecology, cereal chemistry and post-harvest processing, etc.

Rice Science is a subsidized open access journal where CNRRI pays the OA fee. Authors do not have to pay any open access publication fee.
