Education Background

Chen Huizhe, a crop physiologist, received his BSc degree in Agronomy (1993) from the Zhejiang Agricultural University (renamed as Zhejiang University), China, his MS degree (2007) and his PhD in Crop Cultivation and Tillage (2013) from Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences, China.

Research Area

He is leader of the group of physiology and cultivation technology of high-yielding rice of CNRRI. He focuses on development of modern rice technology system. This includes the key technologies of the rice mechanization planting, development of cultivation techniques for super rice. He also studied the characteristics of high yield varieties such as growth, nutrition uptake, yield formation and morphology.

He is responsible for the research and demonstration of machined-transplanting technology of hybrid rice, and of rice precision seeding and standard seedling raising technology of machined transplanting.
