Education Background

 

Wei Xinghua, a crop geneticist, received his MS degree in Crop Genetics and Breeding (1997) from Zhejiang Agricultural University, China and his PhD in Crop Genetics and Breeding (2003) from Zhejiang University, China.

 

Research Area

 

He is the leader of Rice Germplasm Resources Innovation Team of CNRRI. His research focuses on the assessment and conservation of genetic variations of rice. He is also seeking effective methods to explore useful genes in rice germplasm used in rice breeding. He has been awarded first prize for Science and Technology Progress by the Government of Zhejiang Province in 2013 and published more than 90 scientific papers.
