Education Background

 

Gao Zhenyu, a plant geneticist, received his BSc degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology (1997) from Zhejiang University, China, his MSc degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2003) from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China and his PhD in Genetics (2010) from National Center for Gene Research, Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China.

 

Research Area

 

He specializes in plant genetics. At present, he is engaged in the research on functional genomics and molecular breeding of rice. His projects was supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Zhejiang Province, China. He is also participating in National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, and Project of Transgenic Crops, China. He has taken first prize for the excellent research paper awarded by Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province in 2004 and 5 China invention patents. He took part in compiling 4 books related to his research and has more than 40 scientific publications.
