The delegation of Department of International Cooperation of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), headed by Director General Dr. Zhang Lubiao, visited CNRRI for purposes of incorporating international relationship philosophy in building global links and of exchanging views on crucial rice issues.

CNRRI’s Director General Cheng Shihua, Deputy Director General Hu Peisong, and all Division Chiefs participated in open discussion with delegation members.

At the meeting, Division Chief Cao Liyong (Division of Program Management and International Cooperation) briefed attendees on CNRRI’s present situation, recent progress, and existing problems in the field of international cooperation. Experts identified major problems that could inhibit the institute’s future progress. Stronger support and promotion from the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS is expected.

Director General Dr. Zhang Lubiao participated in the meeting and engaged in deep discussion with attending experts about issues of mutual interest. He highly praised the international achievements of CNRRI, expressed his intention to honor commitments, and suggested constructive ways to strengthen international cooperation with CNRRI.
