On January 28th, experts from FNCA (Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia) paid a visit to China National Rice Research Institute as one of the workshops arranged by the 4th International Symposium on Germplasm Innovation & Molecular Breeding and FNCA Open Seminar on Mutation Breeding for Sustainable Agriculture.

Dr. Luo Ju, Deputy Chief of Program Management and International Cooperation Division, introduced the progress of CNRRI and briefed its scientific achievements. FNCA experts highly appreciated the rapid development of CNRRI in recent years, especially the technology advantage and the breaking through achievements, particularly in the field of rice breeding and varieties promotion. Both sides exchanged views on the issues of common concern.

After the meeting, FNCA Experts visited CNRRI’s State Key Laboratory of Rice Biology, Rice Product Quality Inspection and Supervision Testing Center, Genetic Resources Center and the phytotron system.
