In October 2025, a delegation of experts from innovation team of functional genomics research in rice visited Indonesia to attend the 12th International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment (ICSAE-XII), jointly hosted by Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and University of Udayana (UNUD), Indonesia. More than 100 agricultural experts from Indonesia, China, the United Kingdom, India, Egypt and other countries attended this conference.
During the conference, Prof. ZHANG Guangheng delivered a presentation on “Molecular mechanism of synergistic regulation for rice leaf shape and stress resistance”; Prof. GUO Longbiao delivered a presentation on “Genetic diversity and molecular regulation mechanism for salt tolerance in rice”; Prof. GAO Zhenyu delivered a presentation on “Genetic dissection of nitrate transportation and assimilation in rice and application in breeding”, showcasing the latest research achievements in sustainable agriculture by their team and promoting further development of climate-resistant and sustainable agricultural strategies for rice seed industry innovation by CNRRI.
During their visit, CNRRI experts also visited UNS to conduct in-depth exchanges on strengthening bilateral collaboration including advancing joint R&D of rice varieties, enhancing academic exchanges and boosting capacity building.
